A degree of recognition across policing: embedding a degree apprenticeship encompassing work-based research

Purpose As the police service across England and Wales moves towards degree-level study for new recruits as a component of recognising profession policing, this paper describes discusses introduction Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) core skills evidence-based policing (EBP) an educational theme solving work-based problems. Design/methodology/approach Authored by both practitioners researchers, refers to key literature whilst exploring implementation PCDA Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF). It highlights some challenges faced with its along benefits adopting education programme where EBP is embedded in professional practice.
